Why I Create More in My Sketchbooks Than I Do On Paper or Canvas

If you looked through my art practice, you’d probably notice something interesting: I create way more in my sketchbooks than I do on canvas.

It’s not that I don’t love painting on canvas. I do. But there’s something about working in a sketchbook that just makes me create more often, more freely, and with less pressure.

Over time, I’ve realized that creating in my sketchbooks has actually made me a better, more consistent artist.
