Why I’m Prioritizing My Sketchbooks (and Why You Would Benefit From it Too)

Ever since I started painting again around three years ago after not doing it for a very long time, there’s one thing I’ve prioritized in my creative practice more than anything else.

And that’s my sketchbook practice.

My sketchbooks aren’t my priority just because they’re convenient. It’s because sketchbooks are where my real artistic growth happens.

The more I use them, the more I realize that they aren’t just for doodles or rough ideas or to study anatomy. They’re a space for transformation.

And today, I want to share why I’m making them my top priority, and why you might want to do the same.
