3 Tarot Spreads for Multidisciplinary Creatives

I’ve created three tarot spreads for multidisciplinary creatives to help you open up to creativity, decide between different projects and/or ideas (which we all have a lot of at all times), and to help you dip into what your creative superpower is right now. Use one or all of them, and trust your intuition.

Now, let’s dive in.

Preparing & Reading

When you want to do your tarot reading, grab your favorite tarot or oracle deck and any other items you may need to settle into your sacred space. You may want to have a pen and a journal at hand, perhaps your favorite crystal, put on some calming music, or anything else that helps you get in the zone and focus.

Once settled, take some deep breaths, be clear with your intention, shuffle your cards, and lay them out according to the spread you’ve chosen.

Tarot Spreads

Opening up to Creativity

This simple three-card spread focuses on the body, mind, and spirit to help us open up to the abundance of creativity.

Lay the cards out in front of you and contemplate the following questions:

  1. Body: This card represents your energy level, your discipline, your creative work, etc. Am I creating what I want to create? Am I energetically stuck? Do I need to take action on something, or do I need to rest?

  2. Mind: This card represents your intellect, your understanding of things, your perspective, etc. Do I have the information and tools I need to proceed with my project? Is there something I’m missing? What is my unique perspective on this thing I want to create?

  3. Spirit: This card represents your emotions, your pleasure, your Inner Child, etc. Am I spending enough time having fun? What play would benefit me most? What project is calling me the most? What is piquing my curiosity?

Notice how you feel about and respond to each card. If you want to, journal on whatever comes up.

Cons, Pros, and Outcomes

This spread focuses on the cons and pros of each project and/or idea you want to work on to help you decide which to pursue next. This can help you figure out what to prioritize right now.

Give each project/idea a name to differentiate them. They can be titles or nicknames. It doesn’t really matter what, as long as you can differentiate them.

Each project/idea will get three cards:

  1. Possible cons of pursuing this project/idea

  2. Possible pros of pursuing this project/idea

  3. The outcome I may have by pursuing this project/idea

Notice how you feel about and respond to each card. If you notice that you want to go against the result of your cards, journal on it for a moment. It might be your intuition telling you something important.

Your Creative Superpower

This spread will give you a nuanced look into what your creative superpower is right now. You can come back to this spread once a year to check in with your superpower as it evolves with your new skills and experiences.

Lay the cards out in front of you and contemplate the following questions:

  1. Your Mind: What knowledge do you have that’s to your advantage?

  2. Your Spirit: What deeply moves you? Alternatively, what is deeply fulfilling to you?

  3. Your Heart: What emotion is your strength?

  4. Your Experiences: What experience has had a big impact on you?

  5. Your Struggles: What struggles have you overcome? Alternatively, what struggles have made you who you are?

  6. Your Skills: What unique skills do you have?

If you want more nuance in a specific aspect, you can pull more than one card for that particular aspect.

Say, if you already know that your emotions are a big part of your superpower, you can pull more than one card for the heart to see what combination of emotions that are your strength.

You can also pull more than one card if you, for example, want to shed some light on a couple of more unique skills you have.

Then take a moment to journal on how to use this in your creative work. The cards are only giving you some intuitive insights into these different aspects. It’s then up to you to figure out how to integrate the pieces you want to integrate into your work.

Now, tell me, which spread do you want to use? Or, which spread was most helpful to you right now? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
